Scott expects Bees challenge
05 Jan 2009 - 07:05:24
Brentford manager Andy Scott is confident that his side can maintain their position among the promotion hopefuls in League Two.
The Bees are currently second in the table and Scott sees no reason why they shouldn't stay in the hunt for automatic promotion.
He told the Hounslow Guardian: "We are up there with some big teams who have spent some big money. We are punching above our weight at the moment.
"There is no reason why that can't continue. The players are confident and they believe in the system we are playing, which I think is just as important as having the money.
"We have seen some changes in the starting eleven, but the system has remained pretty similar and that goes to show everyone knows their job."
Meanwhile, the Bees have extended centre-back Alan Bennett's loan stay from Reading by a further month.
