Scott: We deserved three points

Brentford manager Andy Scott could not hide his delight and felt his men got their just rewards in the 2-0 win at Southampton. First-half goals from Gary Alexander and Charlie MacDonald stunned the promotion favourites and gave the Bees a deserved win at St Mary's. Scott said: "We definitely deserved the win, we played really well and gave them trouble throughout. Our two strikers troubled their back four and made it difficult for them all afternoon. "You have to remember Southampton were a Premier League side a few seasons ago so it is a terrific achievement to come and win here. We have worked really hard in training for this game and it showed and I am delighted with that. "We made the best use of the ball and passed it really well and they couldn`t handle that. To come and win is tremendous for us and is brilliant for the fans. "We got stuck in and made it difficult for them to play and we showed great character with the way we won. Our goalkeeper Richard Lee made some tremendous saves in the game, especially in the first few minutes. But I still think we deserved to win and to come away with all three points."
