Scott urges Bees to bounce back quickly

Brentford manager Andy Scott wants a speedy response from his side following their 2-0 opening-day defeat at Carlisle. Goals from Gary Madine and Ian Harte, from the penalty spot, meant the Cumbrians gained revenge for last season's opening-day defeat by the Bees. "We didn't get the basics right. Those are the things we need to get into our game quickly," he moaned. "The whole team has got to take responsibility. We didn't defend properly and got pulled apart in the first half. If we had got in at half-time just 1-0 down it would have given us a better chance to get back into the game but we gave away a poor penalty and were really up against it. "We looked more solid in the second half and Robbie Simpson came on and did well while we also gave Charlie MacDonald 25 minutes which was all he could manage. "There are shoots of play that pleased me and one defeat doesn't make a season or destroy it. We have to react to the loss and do something about it. If it makes us more focused then so be it."
