Brentford boss Andy Scott has been named npower League One manager of the month for October. The Bees won four of their five league games to climb away from the foot of the table, beat Leyton Orient on penalties in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and lost a shoot-out in the Carling Cup after a 1-1 draw against Birmingham. "As a manager I am delighted to win any award as it is recognition for all the work every member of staff and player has put in," said Scott. "The award represents success after a slow start and therefore shows the strength of character among everyone at Brentford. "It gives us a good reason to believe we can build on the success of October's results and take it into the rest of the season."
