Saunders set for fitness check

Brentford will hope Sam Saunders suffered no ill-effects to his return from injury when they travel to Notts County on Easter Monday. The in-form winger limped out of last weekend`s win at Rochdale with an ankle injury and his participation was in doubt for Good Friday`s clash with Colchester. But Saunders was passed fit and scored the equaliser which earned the Bees a point in a 1-1 draw, with caretaker boss Nicky Forster now hoping he can manage two games in the space of four days. With injuries to Pim Balkestein, Leon Legge and Craig Woodman, Forster looks likely to have to maintain a makeshift defence with Robbie Neilson and Kevin O`Connor playing out of position. Goalkeeper Richard Lee is still likely to be out with a shoulder injury so rookie Simon Moore keeps his place with coach Simon Royce, 39, on the bench. Forster hopes his side can finish the season strongly to earn him the permanent manager`s position and he said: "There is lots we can still achieve, we have internal targets in terms of positions and points."
