Saunders keen to face former club

Brentford will host Dagenham on New Year`s Day hoping to pit Sam Saunders against his former club. The 27-year-old midfielder made more than 100 appearances for the Daggers in four years, but having been sidelined with a hamstring injury since early December, he has only resumed full training this week. Manager Andy Scott will continue in charge of the Bees after having talks regarding the vacant managerial post at Sheffield United. Carl Cort will not feature for Scott`s side as the former Newcastle striker is still recuperating from a torn Achilles tendon. Another long-term absentee is winger Myles Weston (hamstring) but the former Notts County flyer has stepped up his recovery and could make the bench. The Bees lost their last home match but go into the clash with John Still`s men on the back of three consecutive npower League One wins.
