Brentford boss Leroy Rosenior says striker Alex Rhodes remains in his long-term plans at Griffin Park, despite being loaned out to Swindon Town.
The 24-year-old joined the League Two high-fliers earlier this week amid suggestions he could remain at the County Ground should he impress during his stint with Dennis Wise's side.
However, Rosenior moved quickly to deny such talk and claims Rhodes has only gone out on loan to regain his match sharpness.
He told Clubcall: "The opportunity came up and it was a difficult decision because he played in our first-team last week.
"I just felt it would do him the world of good to get regular football.
"He needs games under his belt to get his confidence going and to get his fitness up to a good standard."
