Prem sides eye Sodje

Fulham are said to be facing competition from Wigan, Reading and Crystal Palace for the services of Brentford defender Sam Sodje.

The 26-year-old, who only joined the Bees from non-league football in the summer of 2004, revealed at the weekend that Chris Coleman had expressed an interest in him.

Sodje stated: "Fulham have approached my manager and told him they'll do everything possible to get me when the transfer window opens."

The central defender has played a key role in the Bees' success in League One this season, with Martin Allen's side currently sitting in second and just two points off top spot.

The Cottagers, though, who are believed to have watched Sodje in recent weeks, appear to be the favourites to snap him up.
