New Brentford signing Glenn Poole is delighted to have been given a chance to prove himself in the Football League, after agreeing a two-year contract with the Bees.
The 26-year-old midfielder has joined Brentford from Conference club Grays Athletic, having ended last season on loan at Rochdale.
Poole told the club's official website: "Two other clubs had expressed an interest in signing me, but as soon as I knew Brentford were interested, that was that."
Meanwhile, another recent Bees recruit, John Mackie, has been confirmed as the new club captain at Griffin Park.
Centre-back Mackie has joined Brentford from Leyton Orient, becoming a key figure in boss Terry Butcher's plans to challenge for promotion back to League One.
