    Phillips secures Bees deal

    15 Aug 2008 - 09:31:25

Brentford manager Andy Scott has handed a contract to former Millwall defender Mark Phillips, who has impressed during pre-season with the Bees.

The 25-year-old featured in several friendlies for Scott's side this summer and showed up well enough to earn a more permanent stay at Griffin Park.

Phillips made just over 70 appearances for the Lions, while he also enjoyed a loan spell with Darlington two seasons ago.

Meanwhile, Scott has urged his players to believe in the passing game he has been trying to instil in them.

He told the club's official website: "I believe that we can play a passing game in this league and still be successful.

"The players still need to work hard to regain the ball when it is lost, but once we have the ball, I want to see them play a positive passing game."
