Brentford captain Kevin O'Connor is close to agreeing a new contract with the club. The 28-year-old, whose current deal expires in the summer, can play in midfield or defence and has made over 400 appearances since signing professional terms with the Bees in 1999 at the age of 17. O'Connor told the Ealing Gazette: "I've been speaking to [chief executive] Andrew Mills for the past couple of weeks and hopefully we can get something sorted soon. "We're very close. There's just a few little bits we need to finish off."
