New striker eyes Bees goals boost
The former Newcastle man enjoyed a spell with Norwich last season but had his contract terminated by mutual consent following the Canaries relegation.
He told the club's official website: "I'm relishing the opportunity of getting my head down and becoming part of the team and pushing on."
The 31-year-old is also keen to add some experience to Brentford's squad and continued: "I still don't have any doubts in my ability and qualities. They say you never lose it and it's just a matter of getting that momentum going again and I have an opportunity to do that now.
"I believe I can definitely add some quality and goals to the team."
