Brentford boss Andy Scott has agreed a one-year loan deal with Reading to bring young shot-stopper Ben Hamer back to Griffin Park.
The 20-year-old made 21 starts for the Bees during a similar season-long switch last term.
Scott told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed Ben on a season-long loan deal and he comes in as my number one for this season.
"He deserves the opportunity based on what I saw of him last season and he'll be mentally and physically tougher as a result.
"He made a few mistakes last season but you can expect that from an inexperienced keeper and he'll learn from that.
"Ben will be dedicated to carry on learning and we can help with this. It's an advantage that we already know him and that he knows us."
