    In-form Brentford thrash Gills

    06 Feb 2010 - 17:29:45

Brentford extended their unbeaten home run to nine matches by easing to a comprehensive 4-0 victory against Gillingham.

Two first-half penalties from Charlie MacDonald and a Myles Weston goal left the Bees 3-0 up at the break, before a second from Weston in the 79th minute made it four.

Southampton made it five league games on the road without a win by drawing at Exeter. Adam Lallana opened the scoring with a first-half strike before Matt Taylor scored the equaliser for the hosts just after the break.

Hartlepool twice came from behind to claim a point against Leeds. Luciano Becchio bagged a brace for Leeds, but the home side twice came back through Adam Boyd and then Antony Sweeney in stoppage time.

Ben Marshall earned Carlisle a point at Huddersfield, with his 83rd-minute effort cancelling out Anthony Pilkington's earlier goal.

Brighton made it four unbeaten on the road in the league with a draw at Leyton Orient. Glenn Murray opened the scoring in the tenth minute before an equaliser from Scott McGleish made it 1-1.

Norwich's eight-match winning run in the league came to an end as they crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Millwall. Russell Martin gave the Canaries an early lead before goals by Tony Craig and Neil Harris completed the home team's comeback.

George Donnelly's 11th-minute opener was not enough for Stockport as goals by Jermaine Easter, former player Aaron Wilbraham and Andros Townsend consigned them to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of MK Dons.

A late Nicky Bailey strike rescued a point for Charlton at Swindon following Kevin Amankwaah's 65th-minute opener, as the Robins' four-match league winning run came to an end.

Pawel Abbott scored the only goal of the game as Oldham claimed all three points at Tranmere and Walsall and Bristol Rovers played out a 0-0 draw.

Yeovil put four past Wycombe to claim all three points at Adams Park. Dean Bowditch opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half before Matt Harrold equalised for the Chairboys five minutes into the second period.

However, goals by Andrew Welsh, Owain Tudur-Jones and a second from Bowditch gave Yeovil their first away league win since October.
