Ide latest to leave Bees

23 Jun 2008 - 11:46:55

Brentford manager Andy Scott has continued to revamp his squad by confirming that Charlie Ide's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.

The 20-year-old scored eight goals in 54 first-team appearances for the Bees, but is now expected to sign for Blue Square Premier League side Grays Athletic next week.

Andy Scott has also agreed to let Darius Charles spend next season on loan with last season's FA Trophy winners Ebbsfleet.

The 20-year-old defender also spent part of last term on loan with the Blue Square Premier League side.

Meanwhile, Peterborough United defender Adam Newton has become Brentford's sixth summer signing after agreeing a one-year contract with the club.
