Halls forced to have operation
19 Nov 2008 - 12:07:43
Brentford defender John Halls has been ruled out of action for the rest of the year after being forced to have surgery on his knee injury.
The 26-year-old sustained cartilage damage in last month's 3-0 defeat at Chester City and has now had an operation on the problem.
Scott told the club's official website: "He had an injection after the game at Havant which didn't work.
"He saw the specialist last week and we made the decision to have the operation done on his knee to tidy up the cartilage.
"He did it at the beginning of the Chester game and, while he got through that game, he's been struggling.
"He wanted to play against Havant in the FA Cup but was in agony after the game. It's a big disappointment, but we're hoping he'll be back around January."
