Forster: We didn`t cope with final

Nicky Forster admitted the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy Final was a step too far for his side after they were beaten by Carlisle. They were poor in the first half but improved after the break and came close to equalising when Jeffrey Schlupp's shot hit the foot of the post. But their chances disappeared when they lost midfielder Toumani Diagouraga to a red card three minutes from time. "It took a while for them to get used to the occasion," admitted caretaker boss Forster, who hopes to get the job permanently in the summer. "As much as you try to prepare them it's a unique atmosphere, and we didn't get to grips with it in the first half. "In the second half we moved the ball a lot better and got at them but in all honesty we didn't get enough quality into the box and we didn't test their keeper. But I'm proud of the lads, they have worked very hard to get here."
