Forster salute for super Sam

Brentford caretaker-manager Nicky Forster praised winger Sam Saunders after he laid on both goals in the Bees' 2-1 win over Tranmere. Saunders fed Charlie MacDonald for his second-minute opener before he supplied a stoppage time cross for Leon Legge to head home the winner. Joss Labadie had fired Rovers level after 65 minutes with a stunning 35 yard shot. Forster said: "When we needed a bit of quality from the flanks Sam stepped forward. He was calm and composed and his two crosses made both goals for us, but it was a genuine team effort and all the boys played their part. "We started off really well and to go a goal up inside a minute was great, but we took our foot off the gas a little bit and after the break when they scored I thought we froze for 20 minutes. But then we got back into it and started pressing and we got our rewards. "I told them to get the ball down and move it on quickly and for the most part that's what we did and in the end I thought we just about deserved the three points. "I've been in charge for four games and won three and I've had texts and messages saying this management lark is easy but the real test will come when we lose a game as every manager does."
