Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald warned his players to expect a tough few weeks, after a 3-1 defeat at Crewe Alexandra confirmed the Bees' relegation to League Two.
Fitzgerald has been unable to mastermind a major upturn in the club's fortunes since taking charge in November and Brentford drop down with four games still to play this season.
"I don't think these players are good enough and I take some of the responsibility as I brought some of those players into the club," revealed Fitzgerald.
"This is the first time I've been relegated in my career and I'm gutted.
"But if the players think they can just come in and go through the motions in the last month, then they're mistaken.
"They're going to work as hard as they've ever done in their lives and I will have them in in the morning."
