Brentford have named caretaker boss Scott Fitzgerald as Leroy Rosenior's permanent successor at Griffin Park.
Fitzgerald took on the caretaker role with the Bees last month, but the club are currently bottom of the League One table after taking only one point from the four games since Rosenior was axed.
They have failed to win any of their last 18 League and Cup games since beating Bradford City at the beginning of September.
A statement on the club's official website read: "We'd like to thank Scott, ably assisted by Alan Reeves, who have stepped up in very difficult circumstances to undertake the interim role.
"In a short period of time, they've worked on fitness, organisation and team spirit and have delivered an encouraging performance improvement.
"We believe that a continuation of such improvement will have a positive impact upon results and achieve our goal of maintaining League One status.
"Scott's contract of employment is constructed in a way to single-mindedly focus upon survival in League One and maintains appropriate flexibility for the future.
"Part of this is the incentive of a longer-term contract to include performance bonuses, upon attainment of the initial goal."
