Elder appeal rejected

Brentford striker Nathan Elder is to face a four-game ban after failing in an appeal against the red card he received on Saturday.

Elder was dismissed in the early stages of Brentford's 1-1 draw with Notts County at Griffin Park on Saturday, but manager Andy Scott was hoping to see the red card overturned.

The FA appeals panel decided against letting Elder off with a suspension and he will now face an extended ban as he has already being sent off this season.

A four-match suspension will see the 21-year-old miss the fixtures against Macclesfield, Aldershot, Shrewsbury and Morecambe.
