Cox break rocks Bees
28 Sep 2006 - 10:10:54
Reading midfielder Simon Cox's loan spell at Brentford is over after he broke his leg during Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Millwall.
The 19-year-old suffered a fractured fibula during the second half of the game and has returned to the Madejski Stadium for treatment.
An initial examination suggested the break is not too serious and Cox could even be back in training in a month's time.
Brentford manager Leroy Rosenior told the club's official website: "I am absolutely gutted for Simon. He has got better and better for us and I thought he was magnificent (against Millwall).
"We will miss him both on and off the field. Needless to say we shall monitor his progress and will look forward to seeing him back in action as soon as possible."
Cox played five times for the Bees after moving to Griffin Park a fortnight ago, having made six appearances as a substitute for Reading last season.
