Brentford 2-0 Oldham: Match Report
Bees maintain play-off interest
Brentford kept their faint play-off hopes alive with a convincing 2-0 win over Oldham to make it 12 points from their last four games.
Marcus Bean took just 68 seconds to break the deadlock, bundling home a Clayton Donaldson long throw at the near post.
The Bees had to wait until after the hour mark to seal the points when substitute Niall McGinn lashed home from 12 yards with almost his first touch.
Sam Saunders and Clinton Morrison went close for Uwe Rosler's side before Chris Taylor headed over from close range for the visitors.
The striker's evening went from bad to worse when he was stretchered off midway through the second half with a serious leg injury.
Saunders saw a free-kick bounce to safety off the top of the bar as the home side looked to make the most of their possession.
But the Bees had Shaleum Logan to thank for the clean sheet when he cleared Jean Yves M'voto's goal-bound header off the line with five minutes to go.
Kieran Lee also went close for the Latics when his deflected shot dribbled wide of a post with keeper Richard Lee stranded.
