Ryan Woods set for Brentford return

Brentford can welcome back Ryan Woods for the visit of Wigan.

The midfielder returns after a one-match ban to give manager Dean Smith a selection dilemma after the Bees thumped Reading 4-1 without him.

Alan McCormack stepped in for Woods for his first league appearance of the season and put in an impressive display.

Elsewhere, Callum Elder is still out with a knee injury, Tom Field has a groin problem, Rico Henry remains sidelined by a shoulder injury and Alan Judge is recovering from a broken leg.

Adam Le Fondre will hope to keep his place in Wigan's starting line-up.

The striker, who is on loan from Cardiff, surprisingly started ahead of top scorer Will Grigg against Wolves on Tuesday and responded by scoring the opening goal.

But Grigg came on to net the winner in the second half, giving manager Gary Caldwell a selection headache.

Midfielder Alex Gilbey (knee and ankle) and defender Reece Burke (hernia) remain sidelined.
