McCormack close to Bees return

Alan McCormack is pushing to return to the Brentford squad for the visit of promotion rivals Watford.

Right-back McCormack, who has been out since October following ankle surgery, made his comeback for the Bees' reserves last week.

Midfield duo Alan Judge (knee) and Lewis Macleod (hamstring) are still receiving treatment on their injuries while striker Scott Hogan (cruciate) remains a long-term absentee.

But boss Mark Warburton, who began his coaching career with the Hornets, has no new injury concerns following Saturday's 1-0 win at Leeds.

Watford's injury problems are clearing up after Almen Abdi and Fernando Forestieri returned to the squad at the weekend.

Midfielder Abdi came on for the final 15 minutes of the 1-0 win over Blackburn while striker Forestieri was an unused sub after both recovered from the hamstring problems which saw them miss most of January.

Sean Murray (knee) and Joel Ekstrand (back) are still sidelined, although the latter is back in light training.

In-form Odion Ighalo will start up front again after scoring his ninth goal in seven games against Rovers.
