Bees can call on Macleod and Bjelland for Owls clash

Brentford hope to be able to call on Lewis Macleod and Andreas Bjelland as they take on Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.

Midfielder Macleod suffered a knee injury against Rotherham last week but has been training with the first team since and was on Tuesday included in Scotland's Under-21 squad for September's games against Macedonia and Ukraine.

Bjelland has been a regular substitute this season and manager Dean Smith said ahead of the Owls clash that the Dane is "looking very bright".

Defender Yoann Barbet and goalkeeper Jack Bonham are working their way back to fitness but are not yet ready to feature.

Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is expected to choose from an unchanged squad as his side chase their first win since the opening day.

Carvalhal has no new injury or suspension worries following last week's home defeat to Yorkshire rivals Leeds, while captain Glenn Loovens is still working his way back from ankle surgery.

Midfielder Jose Semedo (muscle strain) and Marco Matias (abductor) are Carvalhal's only other absentees.

Defender Vincent Sasso is hoping to feature for the first time since he returned to the club as a permanent signing and midfielder David Jones is pushing for his first Owls start.
