Bees without Adam for sure

Brentford will be without midfielder Adam Forshaw when they host promotion rivals Preston.

The League One player of the year serves a one-match ban after he was sent off during last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Swindon, so Chelsea loanee George Saville could earn a recall in the centre.

Winger Sam Saunders has stepped up his training after a knee operation and is closing in on a return, but Friday's clash will probably come too soon.

Youngster Josh Clarke could be on the bench after the speedy wideman was promoted to the first-team squad this week.

Preston captain John Welsh will miss the trip as he completes a two-match suspension.

The central midfielder was booked for the 10th time this season against Bristol City and sat out the 6-1 thrashing of Carlisle.

North End are, however, likely to have a number of players back in their ranks. Top scorer Joe Garner will be one of those returning after he did not play against his former team as he attended the birth of his child

Full-back Scott Wiseman should overcome a knee complaint while fellow right-sided player Chris Humphrey is also expected to be available again following injury.
