Brentford and Boro to revert to strongest line-ups

Brentford boss Dean Smith will recall some of his first-team regulars for the visit of Middlesbrough.

James Tarkowski, Toumani Diagouraga, Lasse Vibe and Maxime Colin were all rested for the FA Cup defeat by Smith's former club Walsall.

Key midfielder Alan Judge started on the bench on Saturday but came on at half-time and is also set to return to the starting line-up.

Spanish midfielder Jota is struggling with a calf strain while defender Andreas Bjelland and striker Scott Hogan (both knee) are long-term absentees.

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka will turn to his big guns once again after making seven changes for Saturday's 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat by Burnley.

Dimi Konstantopoulos, Emilio Nsue, Ben Gibson, Grant Leadbitter, Cristhian Stuani, Stewart Downing and Kike were all left out of the starting line-up on a day which ended in disappointment at the Riverside Stadium.

Central defender Fernando Amorebieta, one of the men drafted in by Karanka, is battling a minor ankle problem but the Sky Bet Championship leaders otherwise have no fresh injury concerns.

Veteran Jonathan Woodgate is still missing with a back problem, while fellow defenders Alex Baptiste and Damia Abella continue their recoveries from a fractured leg and knee ligament damage respectively.
