Influential Bees duo unlikely to start against Huddersfield

Jota (ankle) and Josh McEachran (foot) will both be on the bench once again when Brentford take on Huddersfield.

Boss Dean Smith is wary of asking the returning pair to do too much, saying: "Jota and Josh will start when they can last 90 minutes. Josh is a bit further ahead than Jota in terms of starting."

Midfielder Alan McCormack is closing in on full fitness after he pulled up during the warm-up prior to the Bees' win over MK Dons.

Striker Marco Djuricin is also back involved after overcoming an ankle injury.

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner is waiting on the fitness of injured pair Emyr Huws and Martin Cranie.

Midfielder Huws, on loan from Swansea, and centre-half Cranie missed the midweek home win against Rotherham with respective hamstring and thigh injuries, but Wagner hopes to have at least one of them available.

Joel Lynch returned to action on Tuesday night after a five-game lay-off due to a hamstring problem and is expected to continue in central defence.

Nahki Wells shook off an ankle injury in time to start against Rotherham and although substituted at half-time the striker will be in contention, while Wagner has no new injury concerns.
