Hogan out for Bees

Brentford will be without striker Scott Hogan when they welcome Brighton to Griffin Park.

Hogan, the summer signing from Rochdale, underwent surgery on Wednesday after suffering a cruciate injury against Rotherham a fortnight ago and is set to miss the majority of the season.

However, boss Mark Warburton can welcome back midfielder Tommy Smith (knee) and winger Moses Odubajo (ankle), who both missed the 2-0 win at The New York Stadium last time out.

Stuart Dallas has a thigh problem which will be assessed before kick-off while fellow wideman Sam Saunders is still a couple of weeks from resuming full training following a knee injury.

Striker Sam Baldock is in line for a full Brighton debut having appeared as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Charlton before the international break.

He could replace Jake Forster-Caskey - the stepson of ex-Seagulls skipper and former Brentford manager Nicky Forster - who played 90 minutes for England's Under-21s against Moldova in midweek.

Lewis Dunk keeps his place at the back after scoring twice against the Addicks - his first league goals - meaning veteran Aaron Hughes starts on the bench again.

Dale Stephens and Kemy Agustien have ankle injuries, so fellow midfielder Andrew Crofts should start after signing a new contract on Thursday.
