Djuricin and Vibe help Bees come from behind and sting Preston
Goals from Marco Djuricin and Lasse Vibe helped injury-ravaged Brentford come from behind to beat strugglers Preston 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship.
The visitors took the lead through Daniel Johnson in 33 seconds, firing a rasping drive into the roof of the net from 12 yards.
But the Londoners came back strong after the break to record their first home win of the campaign.
Vibe started the fightback, latching on to a low cross from Liverpool loanee Sergi Canos to tuck home on the hour, before Djuricin completed the turnaround.
But it was a nightmare start for the patched-up home side, rookie right-back Josh Clarke caught out of position as Preston swept down the left. Joe Garner's first time shot was blocked by David Button, but fell invitingly into Johnson's path for him to lash home.
The visitors could have stretched their lead against a Bees side missing 13 first-team regulars through injury in a disjointed first half.
Stevie May headed just over the angle minutes later as the home defence, missing two first choice players, looked disorganised and leaden footed against a lively Preston.
Stand-in centre-back Yoann Barbet went close for the Bees after 20 minutes, but his arrowed near post header was brilliantly tipped wide by Jordan Pickford.
Jake Bidwell brought the best out of the keeper minutes later with a sizzling volley from a corner, but it was the visitors who looked the more potent threat.
At the other end Bees stopper Button had to be at his best to tip Garner's flashing header over the bar before the striker against went close with a snapshot on the half hour.
Brentford looked like strangers before the interval, but it was a different matter after the break, Vibe's deflected effort flying inches past the upright.
Alan Judge found the side-netting with a dipping curling free-kick as Brentford pressed intelligently for the equaliser.
Brentford head coach Marinus Dijkhausen shuffled the pack on the hour, bringing on Canos in place of the impressive Clarke.
And the former Barcelona Academy starlet's impact was instant, as he found space behind the Preston defence to cut in from the right and set up Vibe within 45 seconds of joining the action.
Minutes later Brentford giot their noses in front, Djuricin cleverly turning his man on the edge of the box to power towards goal and fire low and true into a narrow gap in the bottom corner.
On the balance of play it was no more than the hosts deserved - but Preston will rue missed chances and their inability to capitalise on a raw-looking Bees side.
