Boss: Bees win can be turning point

The West Londoners, on the back of two straight defeats, started poorly when they gifted Southend the lead with a freak goal from Simon Francis. But that spurred the home side into a spirited second-half fightback which ended with them snatching the points with two penalties from midfielder Kevin O'Connor. Scott said: "When they got their noses in front their keeper was taking a ridiculous amount of time to take the kicks but in the end we got the points. "We might look back and see that as a pivotal moment because three defeats in a row would have affected our approach. As it was we ended the game on a real high and showed tremendous character to pull ourselves back and regain the initiative. "We had to earn the right to play that kind of football in the second half. It was a big game for us but when it started to open up we always looked dangerous."
