    Bees to decide on appeals

    22 Jan 2007 - 10:57:11

Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald will study the match video before deciding whether to appeal against the two red cards his side received in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Yeovil Town.

Dave Partridge was immediately red carded by Cheshire referee Mike Jones in the fifth minute as he attempted to head-butt Leon Best as the teams lined up for a corner.

The second sending off was deep in stoppage time when defender Che Wilson - making his debut after a loan move from Southend - brought down Yeovil substitute Ishmael Welsh in full flight.

"I have spoken to Dave Partridge and he says he didn't touch the Yeovil man," said Fitzgerald.

"When Wilson brought down the Yeovil man at the end the referee said he took the man and the ball. I would have thought it he got the ball then it was fair enough.''

Despite the defeat, Fitzgerald was upbeat. "I couldn't have asked for more from my players. They battled all the way.

"After that early sending off there was no way we could set out to entertain. We just had to get men behind the ball and battle for a point."
