Brentford manager Terry Butcher is keen to sign Simon Brown after Hibernian decided to release the 30-year-old goalkeeper. The shot-stopper made 66 appearances in his three seasons at Easter Road following his transfer from Colchester United, but spent most of last term on the substitute's bench. Butcher said: "Simon is one of several players to whom we have spoken and we are interested in him. "I know quite a bit about him from my time in Scotland and I rate him highly. He's an excellent goalkeeper with a lot of experience and know-how."
