Brentford boss Andy Scott has vowed not to rush injured midfielder Kevin O'Connor back into action too quickly.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined by a hamstring injury since the 3-2 victory at Mansfield Town at the beginning of February and is not expected back for another couple of weeks at the earliest.

Scott told the Sutton Borough Guardian: "We have rested him and given him some time away from the club. His injury needs rest and massage.

"He was in at the end of last week and was improving, but we need to get him scanned and make sure we don't rush him back too soon.

"Kevin is a good pro and works very hard at his rehabilitation."
