Bees close in on MacDonald
04 Jul 2008 - 12:35:09
Brentford manager Andy Scott has admitted that the deal to sign Southend United striker Charlie MacDonald is still far from certain.
The 27-year-old is set to leave Roots Hall after just one season, with the Bees having had an offer for the frontman accepted by the League One club.
Scott told the Streatham Guardian: "We have had an offer accepted, but there are still several things all three parties need to agree on to make the deal happen.
"The good thing is the player wants to come here. We've agreed the deal in principle, there are just one or two small things that need to be ironed out.
"The length of time that takes is as long as a piece of string, really. It could be tomorrow or it could be next week."
