Bees bring in Williams

Aston Villa striker Sam Williams has joined promotion-chasing Brentford on a month's loan.

Bees manager Andy Scott has signed the 21-year-old as a replacement for Nathan Elder.

Elder sustained a fractured cheekbone and eye socket in Saturday's game against Rotherham United and will play no more football this season.

Williams has failed to make a first-team appearance for Villa but has featured in 27 games during loan spells with Wrexham, Brighton, Colchester United and Walsall in the last three years.
