Bees boss stung by charge

Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald has been hit with a charge of improper conduct by the Football Association.

The Bees boss has been charged following his actions immediately after the 1-1 draw at Bradford City on February 24.

Fitzgerald confronted referee Darren Deadman at the final whistle after Brentford had conceded an 88th minute penalty which Bradford's Steven Schumacher converted to earn his side a point.

Brentford also had striker Jo Kuffour sent off in a action-packed match at Valley Parade.

After the match an angry Fizgerald hit out at two decisions made by Deadman that he felt influenced the outcome of the game.

''I thought Jo had his eyes on the ball all the time,'' he said of Kuffour's red card.

And the award of a penalty for a foul on Bruce Dyer that led to the home side's equaliser was described by Fitzgerald as ''very dubious.''

He added: ''I wouldn't say Dyer dived, but he played it well.''
