New Brentford boss Terry Butcher has released eight players as he begins to shape his squad for next season.
Butcher has told Stuart Nelson, Thomas Pinault, Adam Griffiths, Lloyd Owusu, Neil Shipperley, Joe Keith, Calum Willock and Nathan Abbey that they will not be offered fresh terms and are free to leave Griffin Park with immediate effect.
Garry Richards and Michael Leary have also returned to Colchester and Luton respectively following the end of their loan contracts.
Meanwhile, Bees number two Andy Scott has revealed that the club have offered a new contract to Jo Kuffour, while negotiations are still ongoing with Paul Brooker.
"We've actually offered Jo the best possible contract the club could offer him and must now wait to see if he accepts it," Scott told the club's official website.
"We obviously hope he does, but if he doesn't it won't have been for the want of trying to keep him."
The Bees have also snapped up defender John Mackie following his release by Leyton Orient.
"He's a strong leader who has captained a club to promotion from League Two and he will be a good influence on the younger pros," said Butcher.
"He is a winner who is prepared to put his body on the line and is exactly the type of player we are looking for."
