Bees appeal Elder dismissal

Brentford have confirmed they will appeal against the red card shown to Nathan Elder in the opening minutes of Saturday's draw with Notts County.

Brentford boss Andy Scott told the club's official website: "We have chosen to lodge an appeal against Nathan's sending off as having studied the video, at no time did he look at the opponent or indeed intend to harm him.

"It wasn't a violent challenge, it was simply two players colliding whilst attempting to go for the same ball."

The Football Association appeal panel should deliver their verdict on the matter on Tuesday.
