Bees ace calls for time
20 Aug 2007 - 10:12:35
Brentford defender Kevin O'Connor has urged supporters to keep faith with the side despite a disappointing start to the new season.
The Bees have started life in League Two with back-to-back draws - including a 1-1 stalemate with Notts County on Saturday - but O'Connor believes Terry Butcher's new-look side will improve with time.
"It was disappointing the way we conceded the goal but it is a very young team - I can say that now because I'm one of the older ones," he told the club's official website.
"They will learn from that and get better. But I thought we generally defended well and things will only get better.
"It's going to take a few games for the team to begin to gel - maybe five or six games.
"I thought we played well and probably should have won the game. But we'll get better."
