Bees stung by Forster blow

Brentford are without Nicky Forster for the trip to fellow strugglers Tranmere. The veteran striker this week went under the knife to clear up a long-standing groin problem, and although he will not be sidelined for long boss Andy Scott has ruled him out for Saturday. Scott is still without hamstring injury-victim Robbie Simpson and Carl Cort, who has seen a specialist about his Achilles problem. But fellow frontman Gary Alexander has shaken off an ankle knock and is likely to start in Forster's place. There will be a place on the bench up for grabs after Nicky Adams completed his surprise move to Rochdale on Thursday, less than two months after joining the Bees from Leicester. Winger Sam Saunders could therefore be added to the squad.
