Bees left to curse Osborne show

An own goal from Brentford defender Karleigh Osborne was enough to hand table-topping Brighton all three points in a thrilling clash at Griffin Park. But Gus Poyet's side had goalkeeper Casper Ankergren to thank for keeping them in the game with a string of reflex stops to deny Sam Saunders on three separate occasions. It was end to end after the break and Brighton were awarded a penalty when Osborne was harshly adjudged to have fouled Glenn Murray in the box. However Richard Lee did well to save Ashley Barnes' spotkick. With just over 15 minutes to go, Osborne's night went from bad to worse when he sidefooted a harmless-looking cross past Lee into his own net.
