Bees buzzing after first win

Brentford boss Andy Scott felt his side finally showed what they are capable of after they ended Sheffield Wednesday's unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory at Griffin Park. Charlie MacDonald's well-taken goal five minutes before the interval was enough to secure the Bees' first win of the season and lift them off the foot of the table. "I was absolutely delighted with that, and hopefully it's shown the people watching on TV that we are a decent side," said Scott. "We've tested their keeper quite a few times and I can't think of many efforts that they've had. "We had people who put their bodies on the line and the desire was fantastic. Our centre-backs kept Neil Mellor and Marcus Tudgay quiet and they are both players who are decent at Championship level. "We turned up with the pressure on because we were bottom and they were top, and we knew it would be a physical battle but we didn't allow ourselves to be bullied and out-passed them for long spells.
