Jassem Sukar boost for Brechin ahead of Stenhousemuir game

Brechin City continue their fight to get off bottom spot against Stenhousemuir with player-manager Darren Dods bringing in Dundee United defender Jassem Sukar on loan.

Lewis Spence returns after not being allowed to feature against his parent club Dunfermline last weekend and Darren McCormack and Lukas Culjak are available after illness.

Dods is out with a thigh strain and David Weatherston joins him on the sidelines with an ankle problem.

Dods said: "We made a slow start at Dunfermline. We got back into things and gave them a real fright before losing. If we can play like that again then we can get a vital three points."

Stenhousemuir look for the points that will take them closer to safety with Ross Meechan and Jamie McCormack back in their ranks after suspension.

A hip injury keeps Allan Smith out and Kieran Millar remains sidelined with a groin injury, with manager Brown Ferguson delaying naming his side until late fitness tests on Alan Cook and Jason Scotland.

Ferguson said: "It was great to get the win over Forfar last weekend as it took us another step closer to being in this league next season.

"We are still a couple of wins away and if we could win this one the finishing line is very much in sight."
