Gary Fusco returns for Brechin at home to Stenhousemuir

Scottish League One basement boys Brechin have midfielder Gary Fusco back from injury for Saturday's home clash with Stenhousemuir.

Dene Shields remains out with a knee problem, while fellow striker Robert Thomson looks set for a place on the bench at best due to a lingering thigh issue.

Player/manager Darren Dods is looking for his men to be positive after last weekend's 3-0 loss at Cowdenbeath, saying: "We lost an early goal but went on to have the better of the game for a long period.

"We then lost a bad second goal from a corner and heads went down. We cannot have that against a very resilient Stenhousemuir side."

Opposite number Brown Ferguson is hoping to complete the loan signing of a goalkeeper from a Championship club before kick-off as Jamie Barclay is suspended and back up shot-stopper Dean Shaw is out with a back injury.

Defender Ciaran Summers (back) continues to be out and striker Allan Smith (hip) is also sidelined.

Ferguson said: "Brechin will be disappointed at losing 3-0 last weekend and will be looking to bounce back.

"They are at the bottom of the league but it is very tight and they have enough good players to get out of trouble - but hopefully from next week."
