Brechin boss to take his time

Callum Tapping will remain sidelined for Brechin when Stenhousemuir visit.

The midfielder has undergone knee surgery and is not yet ready to be picked by City manager Ray McKinnon, who will delay selecting his team until Saturday lunchtime as he wants to ensure that his players are fully fit after the win in midweek.

McKinnon said: "To go to the home of a full-time side and win took a lot out of the players. I have to ensure I pick the freshest team that I can.

"We are on a great run of 14 unbeaten league games but we need to be at our best to keep it going."

Stenhousemuir's interim manager Brown Ferguson includes former Rangers, Ayr and Stranraer midfielder Anthony in his squad after he impressed enough during a trial period to earn a deal until the end of the season

Ferguson has concerns over the fitness of two players ahead of the trip to Glebe Park.

He said: "I will finalise my side once I know if these guys are fit. Whatever side I put out I am looking for a positive reaction following our defeat from Airdrie last week.

"When we went a goal behind there was an acceptance that I did not like and I want more resilience against Brechin."
