All square at Brechin

Brechin and Morton had to settle for a share of the spoils in an entertaining 1-1 draw.

Brechin goalkeeper Graeme Smith did well to keep out an early strike from Ross Caldwell, while at the other end Conor Pepper saw a shot hit the woodwork as the game started brightly.

Morton were awarded a penalty early in the second half when Declan McManus was brought down by Gary Fusco in the box. Caldwell stepped up and tucked his penalty into the bottom-right corner.

Brechin went on to dominate the remainder of the game and pulled level when substitute Robert Thomson headed home Bobby Barr's free-kick in the 79th minute.

The home side had chances to win it late on as Ricki Lamie cleared a shot off the line and Craig Molloy was adjudged to be offside as he stroked the ball into an empty net as the game ended all square.
