Selecao shoot on sight

17 Jun 2006 - 10:54:28

Brazil playmaker Ronaldinho wants his side to pepper Australia's goal when the two sides meet in Munich on Sunday.

The Barcelona star and his team-mates struggled to overcome Croatia 1-0 in their opening game, with Kaka's excellent 25-yard drive proving to be the difference.

Ronaldinho said: "This ball is great for forwards. It is very hard for the goalkeepers because it is so light and it moves around a lot.

"We have spoken about it as a squad and believe the best thing we can do is to keep shooting from long range."

The midfield ace also backed his side to improve on their opening performance as they try to justify their favourites' tag.

He added: "At World Cups in the past, Brazil have grown into the competition.

"Traditionally, we get better as the tournament goes on and I am sure that will be the case this year as well."
