Arena Fonte Nova - World Cup 2014

The Arena Fonte Nova has been purpose built as one of the playing venues for the World Cup, also replacing the old Estadio Fonte Nova at the same location.

The old Estadio Fonte Nova was demolished in 2010, with construction of the new venue taking around two-and-a-half years. It was completed in early 2013 and opened in April that year.

The Arena Fonte Nova is set to host six matches during the World Cup which will include one round of 16 match and a quarter-final.

Facts: Opened in 2013, the Arena Fonte Nova is home to EC Bahia.
